20:15: Pick up at your hotel in the Hanoi Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem District only, if you are out of this area, we will pick you up at 17 Hang Thung street, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi). Transfer to the railway station for a night train to Sapa (scheduled 21:15 – 06:15). Sleep on the train (4 people/cabin or 2 people/cabin on request).

Day 1: Cat Cat Villages – Sapa Market ( B/L/D)

Today we begin by walking around 5 km to discover Cat Cat village, the home of the Black H’mong. En route we’ll stop at majestic waterfall and see the hydroelectric power station established by the French. Once back in Sapa you are free to explore the bustling market, after which we’ll have dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Bac Ha Market - Sapa (B/L)

07:00: Check out of the hotel, before departing to Bac Ha Market. Arrive there after 2.5 hours of interesting driving of seeing the country. You have free time to visit one of the most colorful and unique markets in the world. This big market in North West Vietnam is filled with many different hill-tribe peoples such as the Flower Hmong, Dzay, and Tay.

At the market, you’ll have good chance to enjoy the Bac Ha people’s simple but delicious food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fresh fruits such as plumbs, apples, and peaches… You can chat to the tribe’s people through the guide as an interpreter to find out about their traditions and customs!

After lunch, we leave the market to visit the H’mong King’s house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Then take a short walk to see Ban Pho village – the homeland of the flower Hmong people.

Say good bye to Bac Ha for return to Lao Cai Station. On the way back, we’ll drop in to see the Vietnamese and Chinese Harbor Mouth in Lao Cai.

Transfer to the station for an overnight train back Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at 0500 where this great trip ends.
